FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What documents are needed to receive government-assisted homecare?

You will need an ID, Social Security card, Medicaid card (we can assist you in applying if you don’t have one), proof of income (SSA, SSI, pension, retirement plan, etc.), proof of assets (bank statements, stocks, life insurance, burial insurance, etc.), and medical records or a doctor’s note.

What services do you provide?
  • Homecare Services: meal preparation and assistance, personal hygiene and grooming, dressing and bathing, errands and transportation, and light housekeeping.
  • Additional Services (as needed): Medicaid applications and renewals, senior apartment applications, SSA/SSI applications, food stamp applications and renewals, and onsite interpretation services.
Can you care for seriously ill patients or those with dementia?

Yes, our experienced, professionally trained caregivers will provide care and assist with necessary support.

How long does it take after applying for care services?

If you are paying privately, it takes 1-2 days. For government-assisted programs, it usually takes over two months after the interview.

What if I’m not satisfied with the service or feel uncomfortable with the caregiver?

You can contact us at any time, and we will promptly make adjustments.

I have difficulty communicating in English. Can you help?

Yes, we do have caregivers who are proficient in multiple languages and can assist with communication. Caregivers who are proficient in English can accompany you to appointments and help resolve any  issues with paperwork or at hospitals and public agencies.

I want to work as a caregiver. How do I apply?

Anyone who is legally eligible to work can apply for caregiver training. Please contact the ZOA office for more details.
